Police looking for suspects in shooting and shootout in Mint Hill

MINT HILL, N.C. -- Police are looking for a suspect as well as a motive in a shooting that happened Tuesday in Mint Hill.

Officers were called to the scene in the 8800 block of Brigadier Lane around 11:30 p.m. In the backyard of a home, they found a 41-year-old man who had been shot.

The victim was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with life-threatening injuries. Detectives do not believe this was a random act.

Mint Hill Police are also looking for suspects in a shootout on Stoney Trace Drive.

Officers told NBC Charlotte they received multiple calls about people shooting at each other in the parking lot of Victoria Park Apartments Tuesday just before midnight.

Investigators talked with some people on the scene who said their car was shot up. Detectives also learned bullets hit an apartment where a woman was lying in bed. She was not hurt.
