Man brags about alleged brutal assault on Facebook Live, police say

A 19-year-old Macon man posted two Facebook Live videos bragging about jumping another man, according to a Bibb Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The report says a deputy responded to a call about a fight Friday on Wren Avenue around 2:30 p.m.

When the deputy arrived, he spoke to the victim – 18-year-old Vantwan McMillian – who had visible injuries to his head and face. McMillian also told the deputy his shoulder was in pain and that his chest was injured.

The report says McMillian told the deputy he was at the mailboxes in Bird City when a black SUV came up behind him. Three people got out and jumped him, pushing him to the ground, kicking him in the face, and hitting him with a hammer.

McMillian said he was able to get back up and run away. He also told the deputy that Quontavious Montgomery told him he was going to get a gun.

The report says one of the people at the scene pulled up Montgomery’s Facebook page where there were two Facebook Live videos: one where he was bragging about jumping McMillian and the other showed him saying law enforcement would never catch him.

A warrant was issued on Montgomery for aggravated assault.
