CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Voters overwhelmingly approved two bond packages.
One of those bond package was for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools totaling $290 million to pay for construction, renovations and upgrades.
The other $210 million was for central Piedmont Community College for new classrooms and labs.
It was a Democratic sweep for the Charlotte City Council at-large race.
All four democrats beat four republicans -- and one libertarian --to maintain the democrats' nine to two majority on the City Council.
Michael Barnes was the top vote getter. Followed by Vi Alexander Lyles, David Howard and Claire Fallon.
