LENOIR, N.C. -- Frosty the Snowman is on thin ice in Lenoir.
On Monday, city council met to decide if the 35-foot inflatable snowman's owner will be fined.
Larry Smith says Frosty is a staple at his Christmas tree lot.
But the city says it's in violation of an ordinance, and that Smith must pay a fine.
On Monday, city council was supposed to discuss Smith's appeal of the decision, but they delayed the hearing until January.
The community has donated $900 to help pay for that fine.
If he's not fined, Smith says he'll donate the money to hospice.
