BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) -- Furloughed federal workers in Beaufort are continuing their protests of the federal government shutdown.
The Beaufort Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/16n5rNT ) more than a dozen protesters with signs marched in front of Beaufort City Hall on Thursday. There were almost two dozen out Tuesday.
The workers are Defense Department Employees furloughed from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island and the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort.
Parris Island electrician Jonathan Frit says he spent eight years in the Marines being told to fight for what you believe in. He says Congress has the right to debate but it should not put 800,000 people at risk.
Parris Island furloughed 291 workers while the Air Station furloughed 1,200 employees.
