CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Washington insiders expect Mayor Anthony Foxx’s confirmation vote to become a member of President Obama’s cabinet to happen next week.
The U.S. Senate has to approve the president’s nominations.
North Carolina Senator Kay Hagan told NBC Charlotte Friday Foxx impressed her colleagues during his hearing.
“Senator Rockefeller told me later, who is chair of that committee, never have I had anybody come out of that with just such a great job. He came out of that with a unanimous vote,” she said.
Hagan believes Foxx will be confirmed before Congress leaves for the Fourth of July holiday.
