COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Election protests have been filed in three races at the Statehouse.
Monday was the deadline for most protests to be filed. Protests in Richland County can be filed until Nov. 26 because of the county's delay in certifying its results.
Republican Richard Yow is challenging his loss to Chesterfield Rep. Ted Vick. Yow says more than 2,000 improper or illegal votes were cast in the race.
Republican Leilani Bessinger is challenging her loss to Ridgeland Sen. Clementa Pinckney, saying among other things that Pinckney does not live in the districts.
Republican John Pettigrew accuses Republican Sen. Shane Massey of Edgefield with failing to file proper campaign paperwork. Pettigrew had been kicked off the June primary ballot for failing to file the proper paperwork.
