COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The director of the State Elections Commission says her agency should have enough money to make it through the end of this fiscal year.

Marci Andino said Tuesday she'll have to see how much the special U.S. House election to replace Rep. Tim Scott costs as well as the final legal bills for last year's problems with candidate filing for the primaries before knowing if she'll exceed her $10 million budget.

Andino told a small group of House lawmakers reviewing her budget Tuesday that special elections in the 1st Congressional District and a state House seat in Greenville could cost up to $1.6 million.

Andino is asking for $12.6 million for the next fiscal year and plans to set aside $5 million to eventually replace voting machines,
