ST. MATTHEWS, S.C. (AP) -- Some Midlands voters go to the polls this week to fill an unexpired term for a state House seat.

The District 93 seat became vacant when Democrat Harry L. Ott Jr. of St. Matthews stepped down to become state executive director of the federal Farm Service Agency.

Voters go to the polls Tuesday in the district that includes Calhoun County and parts of Lexington and Orangeburg counties.

Voters will choose between Democrat Russell Ott of St. Matthews, Harry Ott's son, and Republican Charles Stoudemire Jr. of Woodford.
