GASTONIA, N.C. -- Dozens of women from throughout the Carolinas attended a "Women for Trump" rally Monday afternoon in Gastonia.
It was hosted by the spouses of prominent congressmen and the wife of a Navy SEAL who was killed during the 2012 Benghazi attacks.
Mary Ellen Schick likes Donald Trump because of his pro-life stance.
"I believe he's a good man," Schick said. "I'd rather have somebody who can and help the people in the good way."
Schick still supports Trump even though he's received condemnation for his crude remarks toward women that were captured on tape back in 2005.
"He was a businessman," Schick said. "When I heard it, I laughed."
Madelyn, a high school student and Trump supporter who declined to give her last name, said she hears remarks similar to Trump in her school's hallways.
"Every guy talks like that at some point," Madelyn said. "You walk down the hallway, and you hear things that are worse than that."
Belinda Maier doesn't support Trump, but she still attended the rally out of curiosity.
"Those words were indicating that he actually did these things," Maier said. "They are not just words, they were actions also."
Trump has denied acting on his comments.
