MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) -- District Attorney Bilbo Mitchell says 25-year-old Lamontaye Marsh has been sentenced to life without parole for his role in the 2011 slaying of a North Carolina man.
Mitchell tells WTOK-TV in Meridian that Marsh recently pleaded guilty to capital murder in Lauderdale County Circuit Court. Marsh was one of five men arrested in the shooting death of 45-year-old Thomas Eugene Tedeschi of Fayetteville, N.C.
Tedeschi's body was found off Mississippi Highway 145 leading south out of Meridian in August of 2011.
Authorities say Tedeschi had been in Meridian for a short time to work on upgrading cellphone towers.
They say he was last seen leaving a nightclub.
