RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Two Capitol Police officers in Raleigh have been suspended while officials investigate off-duty work.
Public Safety Secretary Kieran Shanahan announced the suspensions and investigation Sunday night.
Shanahan did not provide details since the investigation is continuing. Public Safety spokeswoman Pam Walker says the agency only learned of the allegations Friday afternoon.
The Capitol Police force provides security at government buildings in Raleigh and at other state-owned properties.
Shanahan took over as the Public Safety Department last month.
