ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A judge sentenced a Rock Hill man to more than ten years in prison for firearm and drug charges.

Police pulled over a car 23-year-old Jadaryl Andrew Hinton was in during February 2012 for driving without the headlights turned on. Police say they found a loaded firearm and baggies of marijuana in the backseat, as well as a stolen gun and 19 more bags of marijuana in Hinton’s pockets.

The attorney’s office calls Hinton a known gang member who was prohibited from having firearms because of prior felony convictions, which including charges for marijuana and crack cocaine.

Hinton will serve four years of supervised release when he’s out of jail.

The driver’s case was settled separately in state court because he did not have other convictions.
