A brewer in the Tar Heel State is faced with a challenge from one of the country’s best known brewers.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Natty Greene’s Brewing Co. attempted to trademark “Natty Greene’s” last summer. The beer is reportedly named for Nathaniel Greene, a Revolutionary War general, which Greensboro is named for.
Anheuser-Busch, the maker of Natural Light, filed to stop the trademark this week. Its version is often known as “Natty Light” and has been sold since the 90s.
