COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A car South Carolina police were following after a suspected drug deal landed on top of a home in Columbia.
The State newspaper of Columbia reports that the home's residents were not hurt when the car slammed into the building early Saturday morning.
Columbia police say the incident started when an officer noticed what he said looked like a drug deal involving the vehicle that did not have headlights on. Police say the suspect did not stop for the officer's blue lights and sirens, and instead sped away before landing on the home in the Forest Acres neighborhood.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said the suspect fled the crash scene, leaving behind crack cocaine and cash.
