COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Country music star Darius Rucker is returning to his student haunts and addressing graduates of the University of South Carolina.
Rucker is scheduled to speak at Saturday's commencement ceremonies for the Honors College and the College of Arts and Sciences. Rucker and three fellow USC students formed Hootie and the Blowfish in 1986.
Rucker has since gone on to a solo career as a country music singer.
Rucker, who is a graduate of the College of Mass Communications and Information Studies, is the recipient of an honorary doctor of music degree.
