PICKENS, S.C. (AP) -- A Pickens County jury has found a 51-year-old man not guilty of murder in the death of his wife in a fire in a tool shed at their Easley home.

After hearing the verdict Tuesday, 51-year-old Don Kinsela cried and hugged his family, including the parents of the woman prosecutors accused him of intentionally killing.

Kinsela's 47-year-old wife, Cheryl, died in the July 2010 fire. Authorities charged him with murder and first-degree arson about six months later. Prosecutors say Don Kinsela set up 20 bales of pine straw and two gas cans in a corner of the shed to trap his wife, then set the fire.

Kinsela's lawyer says the fire was an accident caused while Kinsela was fueling a piece of lawn equipment.

The jury deliberated about an hour.
