FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Fayetteville State University's business school has received a $100,000 donation to help students become entrepreneurs.
The Fayetteville Observer reports the gift from Nicolas Perkins is one of the largest single donations received from an alumnus. Perkins graduated from the university in 2003. He is president and founder of Perkins Management Services, a food services management company based in Charlotte.
The university is proposing a doctoral program in entrepreneurship.
Perkins says it's important to him as an entrepreneur to encourage students to learn how to be entrepreneurs themselves and start their own firms.
