FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Friends and relatives have painted a boat to honor a woman found strangled at a Summerville gas station.

Richard Marrone tells WCSC-TV (http://bit.ly/UYH0B8 ) that he and some of his daughter's friends gathered in Folly Beach on Friday to paint a boat lime green, his daughter's favorite color.

A week ago, authorities found the body of 21-year-old Jasmine Marrone in a car at a gas station after getting a call about a man making a disturbance.

Police noticed the man had blood on his clothes, then officers found Marrone's body under a blanket in the car.

Investigators say 33-year-old James Randall Carpenter has been charged with murder. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
