MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Gov. Nikki Haley says that finishing Interstate 73 through South Carolina is a key to bringing new businesses and jobs to South Carolina's Grand Strand.
The governor made two appearances along the Grand Strand on Monday where she discussed jobs and the importance of the new highway. The proposed interstate is designed to connect Myrtle Beach and Michigan.
Haley told a realtors group that several new companies have announced plans to locate in Horry County this year. But she said it's difficult to continue to attract companies to an area without an interstate highway.
