NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A judge has dismissed a homicide by child abuse charge against a 17-year-old baby sitter, saying Charleston prosecutors did not have enough evidence.

The teen was arrested after a coroner's inquest jury last month determined she was responsible for the death of a 2-year-old girl because of extreme indifference.

The teen's lawyer argued Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten questioned the girl at the hearing without notifying her of her right against self-incrimination.

Prosecutor Scarlett Wilson said Thursday she will review the case and look for additional evidence.

The toddler died in the hospital in July after a series of seizures and a stroke. She had a birth defect that prevented the growth of her feet.

The teen was a live-in baby sitter for the toddler and two other children.
