GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a husband saw the head-on collision on Interstate 385 that killed his wife and injured their three children.
Investigators say 27-year-old Shauntia Jackson and her husband were in separate vehicles on Interstate 385 in Greenville around 2:30 a.m. Monday when a wrong-way driver crashed into Jackson's car.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Barry Wright says the couple was talking on a cellphone and the husband tried to warn his wife before the wreck.
Jackson was wearing her seatbelt, but died. The couple's three children, ages 9, 8 and, 3 were all injured and were in serious condition Monday. The wrong-way driver was also injured, but is expected to survive.
Troopers are investigating the wreck. No charges have been filed.
