CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- An Horry County jury has found a 24-year-old Mullins man guilty of involuntary manslaughter in a 2011 death at a party in Conway.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported (http://bit.ly/143vyWu ) that Christopher Cooper was found guilty Tuesday of involuntary manslaughter in  the death of 22-year-old Kendall Williams, also of Mullins.

Circuit Judge Steven John ordered Cooper to serve four years in prison.

Prosecutors said Cooper attacked and beat Williams at the party. Defense attorney Fran Humphries told jurors Williams' death was tragic, but his death was due to a fatal heart condition and not the attack.

Police said when officers arrived they found Williams unconscious and not breathing. He died about an hour later at a hospital.
