ABBEVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man found in his parents' front yard in Abbeville.
Interim Sheriff Ronnie Ashley says the man's parents heard gunshots outside their home at around 10:30 p.m. Monday. They ran outside and found 30-year-old Jamal Phillips dead in the yard.
Ashley says Phillips was shot four times. He had moved from North Carolina into his parent's home in December.
Deputies and the State Law Enforcement Division are investigating. An autopsy was expected Tuesday. No arrests have been made, but authorities said they do not think there is a threat to the community.
