RANDLEMAN, N.C. (AP) -- A Randolph County man who was wounded in a shooting in July has died from his injuries.
The Courier-Tribune of Asheboro reported that 28-year-old Christopher Michael Lawing of Randleman died late last week at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Lawing's uncle, 53-year-old Michael Anthony Dotson of Randleman, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Deputies were unsure over the weekend whether the charges against Dotson will be upgraded.
Deputies were called to a home on July 16 and found Lawing in the yard with a gunshot wound to the neck. Deputies say Dotson was found about an hour later.
