RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- New North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory's administration is adding to its staff but refuses to say immediately how much money they make.
McCrory announced this week that Crystal Feldman is his press secretary. Feldman most recently worked for a House committee on Capitol Hill.
McCrory campaign press secretary Ricky Diaz is now deputy communications director, and Blannie Cheng is deputy adviser on jobs and the economy.
The governor's press office declined Wednesday to provide the workers' salaries, saying it would do so once the Governor's Office is staffed fully.
State law requires an employee's salary and other information be made available for public inspection during regular business hours. North Carolina Press Association counsel Mike Tadych (toddy)says delaying the information's release isn't an acceptable reason for preventing access.
