NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- North Charleston police say a man who shot and killed another man in a store will not be charged because he acted in self-defense.
Police say 21-year-old Rodney Fleming of North Charleston and his girlfriend pulled up outside a store late Sunday. Fleming went inside while his girlfriend waited in the car.
Police say 20-year-old Rodrejuez Shaw of Hanahan approached the car and talked with Fleming's girlfriend before going into the store.
Police say Shaw pointed a gun at Fleming, who pulled a gun and fired twice, hitting Shaw in the stomach.
Shaw was pronounced dead early Monday at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston.
Police spokesman Spencer Pryor says Fleming turned himself in but was not charged because he acted in self-defense.
