RALEIGH, N.C. -- The North Carolina Chamber will stop publishing a magazine that dates to 1943 because of a sharp decline in advertising.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that chamber spokeswoman Sherry Melton says N.C. Magazine was sustaining itself until this year.
Three years ago, production was outsourced to S&A Cherokee of Cary. In March, the magazine went from monthly to bimonthly publication.
Melton says the chamber itself is doing fine financially, with membership revenue increasing. The Raleigh-based chamber represents more than 25,000 businesses that employ 845,000 people.
