HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Deputies in Henderson County have arrested a man who rammed his pickup truck into the local human services building in an attempt to remove his child from the custody of social services.
A statement from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office said 29-year-old Jorge Bravo Perez backed his 1995 GMC pickup truck through the front doors of the health department building, which is connected to the Department of Social Services.
Officers immediately arrived and took him into custody. Bravo-Perez didn't get into the staff area.
No one was injured in Monday's crash.
Bravo-Perez faces several charges, including resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer and providing fictitious information to an officer. He's in the Henderson County Detention Center in lieu of $17,000 bond. It's not known if Bravo-Perez has an attorney.
