CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Human bones have been found at a construction site in Charleston where the city is building a $142 million performing arts center.
Two sets of remains were found this week. Officials are wondering whether the site may have once been part of a larger graveyard.
The bones were found where the city is renovating the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium into what city officials say will be a world-class performing arts center.
Records show the area around the auditorium has been a residential area since the mid-1800s.
