COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a father and his adult son have been charged with killing the son's mother, then reporting her missing a week later while her body was still in their garage.
West Columbia Police Chief Dennis Tyndall said investigators found 59-year-old Susan Wilkes' body buried in Lexington County about 30 miles from the family's home. But he says authorities are still trying to unravel all the lies from the father and son to figure out what happened to her.
Both 73-year-old Marion Wilkes and his 23-year-old son Joseph are charged with murder. Tyndall said it appears the woman was killed two weeks ago. Marion Wilkes went on television last weekend asking for help to find his missing wife.
Tyndall says he doesn't know if the men have lawyers.
