SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- The volunteer group Christmas in Action is repairing 28 homes of disadvantaged homeowners in the Spartanburg area.
The daylong project takes place Saturday and starts with a breakfast at the Lyman United Methodist Church.
Nonprofit group executive director Joan Moore says the effort brings hundreds of volunteers together. They will work on projects ranging from painting and landscaping to remodeling entire rooms.
The effort is undertaken in cooperation with the Home Depot Foundation.
Moore says the group started its work 15 years ago and has helped more than 650 homeowners in Spartanburg County.
