SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the death of a Spartanburg County business owner found shot in his home surrounded by money and a cash register.
Deputies say 53-year-old Fred Darrell Black was found on his kitchen floor early Saturday morning. He had a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.
Sgt. Kevin Bobo says Black's death is being investigated as a homicide, with robbery as a possible motive.
Black ran a small convenience store and grill out of his home. Authorities say a pistol was found on a counter near Black's body.
