RALEIGH, N.C. -- Two suspects accused of stealing a dinosaur model from a Raleigh museum have been charged.

Investigators recovered the replica stolen by 21-year-old Logan Ritchey and 21-year-old Alyssa Lavacca, according to State Capitol Police.

They’re each charged with two counts of theft or destruction from the Museum of Natural Sciences and the Museum of History, which is a felony offense in North Carolina.

A bag containing the baby dinosaur replica was left near the rear entrance of the Museum of Natural Sciences Wednesday evening.

Ritchey and Lavacca turned themselves in Thursday morning. Police say they are cooperating.

Ritchey was being held on a $2,000 secured bond, and Lavacca was released on an unsecured bond.
