HARDEEVILLE, S.C. -- A man has been charged with murder in the deaths of two people who were shot outside a car in Hardeeville five months ago.
The State Law Enforcement Division said 19-year-old Bernard Jenkins was arrested Wednesday.
SLED says Jenkins was with 25-year-old Desmond Brown of Hardeeville and 26-year-old Octavia Scott of Bluffton shortly before they were found dead May 11.
Arrest warrants say DNA testing and statements from witnesses linked Jenkins with the killings. SLED agents did not give a motive for the killings or say how Jenkins knew the victims.
Jenkins is being held in the Jasper County jail. It wasn't clear whether he has an attorney.
