RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A trial court judge from Raleigh plans to run for the North Carolina Court of Appeals next year.
Special Superior Court Judge Lucy Inman announced Monday she will seek the seat being vacated by retiring appeals Judge Bob Hunter of Marion.
Inman went to North Carolina State University and UNC-Chapel Hill law school before practicing civil litigation in California and North Carolina for 18 years. Gov. Beverly Perdue appointed Inman to the bench in 2010. A special Superior Court judge presides in courtrooms across the state where needed. Inman also is a former newspaper reporter.
The 15-member Court of Appeals hears cases in groups of three judges. It is North Carolina's intermediate appeals venue before the state Supreme Court.
