FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- A restored fire truck designed as a mobile memorial to the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is making a stop in Fayetteville.

New York Fire Department Engine 343 will be on public display Wednesday night at City Fire Station 5. The truck's number represents the 343 firefighters who died in the World Trade Center attacks 10 years ago.

The truck is owned by the non-profit FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation, which provides transportation to families of injured firefighters.

The engine has local ties. Lt. Jackie Lee of the Fayetteville Fire Department has donated a Mack fire truck to the foundation.

The memorial fire truck will be on display for one night before heading to South Carolina.
