The pumpkin work of a viking by Czech vegetable carver Radek Vach is on display on September 5, 2011 during the first European vegetable carving competition in Leipzig, eastern Germany. The competition is taking place during the "Gaeste" trade fair for the restaurant, hotel and catering business running until September 6, 2011. Within four hours, competitors have to carve in front of the jury's eyes a piece from melons, papayas, stem cabbage, cucumbers, radish, carrots and Chinese cabbage.
