CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The U.S. Attorney's Office announced 19 arrests stemming from a four-month-long investigation conducted by the ATF and CMPD.

Anne Tompkins, the U.S. Attorney over the Western District of North Carolina scheduled a press conference for 12:45 Wednesday afternoon to announce the arrests made in connection with an investigation that focused on the Sugar Creek/Interstate 85 corridor.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives worked with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department over the last four months, and officials arrested 14 individuals Wednesday morning related to their investigation.

Of the 14 arrested, the U.S. Attorney's Office says seven defendants will face federal drug and gun charges, while the other seven will face state criminal charges.

Officials say another five people charged in connection with this investigation are already in custody, while another three are still wanted.

Additionally, in the early morning roundup, officials seized 10 guns, two of which were assault rifles.

Authorities say the suspects used local restaurant and parking lots of gas stations, such as McDonald's and Cookout, for drug and gun sales along the Sugar Creek corridor.

Police say suspects often lived in local hotels, and often dealt from inside hotel rooms. Although several hotels are named as part of the drug roundup, no hotel operators were arrested or charged. The hotels were not the focus of the investigation, police say, but civil injunctions may come at a later date.

A similar effort in February 2012 took dealers and weapons off the street, police say, making a "noticable" impact. Authorities expect this operation to have similar a effect.

The U.S. Attorney's Office released the names and charges of those facing federal charges late Wednesday afternoon:
