CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers quarterback just lined himself up a new gig.
Cam Newton isn’t quitting football, but he did just add clothing designer to his resume. Newton formally introduced MADE to fans at Belk in SouthPark Mall Saturday.
Newton says it’s just a new challenge.

“Putting my name on my clothing line, first off, is a dream come true. And I would like to see it flourish,” he said. “But my first calling is football, so I’m trying to take care of that first.”
The name MADE has dual meaning. If read backwards, the “D,” “A” and “M” look like Cam in the sign. He says men can put their styles together in their own way. They can assemble an outfit and become a “made” man. Newton is proud of his line and says his favorite pieces to wear are the suits. He calls the line accessible to all types of buyers.
Five percent of the profits benefit the Cam Newton Foundation, which serves kids in Charlotte and Atlanta.
“As a foundation you try to find unique ways to raise money so you can do more in the community, and that’s all I was trying to do. For us, the Cam Newton Foundation lives off of ‘everyone matters.’ We try to structure everything around youth, getting those guys out and getting them healthy.”
When Newton has down time in Charlotte, he says his favorite thing to do is eat. The self-proclaimed foodie has a laundry list of favorite restaurants. His top three: Cowfish, Cowbell and Del Frisco’s.
