PINVILLE, N.C. -- A home bound hospice patient got a wall shattering wake-up when a car crashed into his living room.

It happened on Kettering Drive in south Charlotte just before 9am.  An 87-year-old man was asleep in his bedroom, when the car went barreling into his living room.

The son of the elderly man tells NewsChannel 36, he’s thrilled this Sunday his father decided to sleep in.

“He called me this morning…car into my living room,” said Sam Santander.  He rushed over to make certain his father was okay.

Pineville Police say they woman who was driving the car had some kind of medical problem, but she’s expected to be okay.  No word yet if charges will be filed.
