Massive tree falls in Rowan County

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Cleanup in underway in Salisbury, and the rest of Rowan County, which was hit hard by the storm. At Statesville Road and Wood Avenue, an elm tree standing since 1930 became uprooted, spreading branches across the property. No one was hurt, but the homeowner said the the crash made for a shocking noise. Officials opened up an emergency shelter in Salisbury for anyone displaced by the storm.
