WASHINGTON (AP) -- Crowds are gathered on the National Mall in Washington, listening to speeches commemorating the 50th anniversary of the civil rights march that featured the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. The original March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom was held on Aug. 28, 1963. When this morning's speeches conclude, participants will walk the half-mile from the Lincoln Memorial to the 2-year-old Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. NBC Charlotte's Glenn Counts is in Washington D.C. to cover the events.
