CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident in east Charlotte late Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at Independence Boulevard near Alebmarle Road around 10:30 a.m.. Police have blocked part of Independence while they work the scene.
An SUV flipped on its side after colliding with a car. One person suffered potentially life-threatening injuries, according to MEDIC.
Commuters are being detoured off of Independence at Eastway Drive.
