CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Real Estate mogul Donald Trump allowed NewsChannel 36 to take an exclusive tour of his private Boeing 757 during a trip to Charlotte this week. The Donald purchased the plane for more than $100 million in February 2011 from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
His pilot told NewsChannel 36 reporter Dianne Gallagher that the NBC reality TV star gutted the entire aircraft so he could update the interior “Trump-style.”
The ceiling is made of suede and all the walls are wood-paneled. Luggage bins, sinks, trimming, even the seatbelts are made of 24 karat gold. Trump even allowed the camera into his private master bedroom and bathroom, where the walls are lined in gold silk.
Affectionately called “Trump Force One” by his pilot of nearly 25 years, the plane boasts Rolls Royce powered engines. Most Boeing 757s seat more than 230 passengers but because all of the seats are “Trump Class” only 47 people can be on board.
Trump was visiting Charlotte Wednesday while making a final push to purchase The Point Lake and Golf Club in Mooresville.
