SC sheriff: Same killer shot 2 women, 1 man
05:58 PM EDT on Thursday, July 2, 2009
GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Authorities say they have linked the shooting deaths of a mother and daughter to the killing of a prominent South Carolina peach farmer found dead at his house last week.
Multiple media outlets report that Cherokee County Sheriff Bill Blanton said Thursday that 83-year-old Hazel Keaton Linder and her 50-year-old daughter, Gena Linder Parker, were killed by the same person as 63-year-old Kline Cash.
Cash was gunned down at his home June 27. The bodies of Keaton and Parker were discovered Wednesday at a Cherokee County home.
All three were shot to death. The sheriff says investigators think the suspect is targeting women, but Cash's wife wasn't home.
