Special needs child's diaper searched in drug raid

Florida family say they were targeted because of their skin color when police ransacked their home and searched diaper of special needs 10-year-old in drug raid.

(WBBH/NBC News)  Disturbing allegations have been made against Florida's Fort Myers Police Department. Officers are being accused of terrorizing a family during a search of their home.

In police body camera footage obtained by NBC affiliate WBBH officers can be heard saying they're searching for drugs.  After nearly two hours of searching, they turned up no evidence of drugs in the home.

The video shows Theresa Hamilton and her boyfriend handcuffed and made to sit outside while her 10-year-old mentally handicapped daughter, who is nonverbal, sobbed.

"I was really embarrassed, the way I was taken outside, and I asked for a blanket to cover up," Hamilton said.

Her daughter's diaper was searched as well.
