CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Dozens of interactive activities and displays are featured as a Charlotte university holds a science and technology expo.
The event at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on Sunday Includes activities like members of the school's chemistry department showing visitors how to use juice from blackberries to build a solar cell.
Organizers say the free, public event will offer something of interest for almost every member of the family.
There's plans for a combustion chemistry demonstration involving exploding hydrogen gas, a virtual human designed by students in the College of Computing and Informatics, and a NASCAR racing vehicle car from engineering college.
The expo is the main event of the university's participation in the North Carolina Science Festival.
