EDITORS:

The annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the video game industry's largest trade show, will be held next week at the Los Angeles Convention Center, attracting an estimated 46,000 developers, analysts, journalists and other attendees. With the upcoming launches of Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One consoles, the next generation of gaming will be a primary focus at this year's show. The AP plans comprehensive coverage across all formats, with a daily combination of longer-form content and shorter items. Here are some of the stories we plan...

Moving Sunday:

GAMES-E3-EXPECTATIONS

LOS ANGELES — With the next-generation consoles already revealed ahead of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, the gaming industry is expected to focus on, well, games at its annual gathering this week. The technology and creativity showcased at this year's E3 could shape what's to come over the next decade. By Entertainment Writer Derrik J. Lang.

Moving Monday:

GAMES-E3-MICROSOFT

LOS ANGELES — It's take two for Xbox One at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Microsoft must win back gamers at E3 after spending more time touting its new console as an all-in-one entertainment solution than a gaming device during the One's unveiling last month. By Entertainment Writer Derrik J. Lang. Eds: Developing from 12 p.m. EDT presentation.

GAMES-E3-SONY

LOS ANGELES — Following the tease of the PlayStation 4 in New York earlier this year, Sony is expected to go into deeper detail about the new console's capabilities and games during its Electronic Entertainment Expo presentation — as well as finally show what the PS4 looks like for the first time. By Lou Kesten. Eds: Developing from 9 p.m. EDT presentation.

Moving Tuesday:

GAMES-E3-NINTENDO

LOS ANGELES — It's all about the games for Nintendo. The Japanese gaming giant is forgoing its usual flashy Electronic Entertainment Expo presentation for a simpler showcase of upcoming titles for the handheld Nintendo 3DS, as well as the much-maligned Wii U console. By Entertainment Writer Derrik J. Lang. Eds: Developing from 12 p.m. EDT presentation.

E3 stories through the rest of the week will be included on subsequent advisories.
