Thousands without power as Cindy moves north

NEW ORLEANS – Thousands lost power Wednesday morning, as rain bands from Tropical Storm Cindy passed through the New Orleans Metro Area.

Entergy crews are working to restore power to several neighborhoods in the New Orleans area. Just after 4 a.m., more than 4,700 customers are without power in Orleans Parish. There were also widespread outages in Jefferson Parish where more than 4,800 customers are without power.

As of 7 a.m., 1,372 customers are without power in the Orleans Parish area. Another 955 customers are without power in Jefferson Parish.

Cleco reports fewer than 45 customers are without power on the north shore.
